About Plymouth Market

Welcome to Plymouth City Market

Plymouth City Market at Frankfort Gate – formerly Plymouth Pannier Market – has provided a focal point for local traders and shoppers for almost fifty years. Historically there has always been a market in Plymouth but once the original pannier market was bombed during the second world in 1941, construction began on the new market which opened in 1959.  Click here for further history of Plymouth City Market.

With deliveries every day, you can guarantee all of our food produce is fresh and of superb quality. Many of the branded goods sold in the market are at knock down prices if compared to other household goods and hardware sold around the stores in Plymouth - we would challenge anyone to find branded batteries elsewhere in the city centre cheaper than ours in Plymouth City Market. What ever you are looking for; be prepared to find a lot more, at excellent value for money and all under one roof.
